Reading Group, The Use of Psychodrama in Individual Psychotherapy, Friday, 30 October.

Moderator: Sue Daniel

The primary locus of psychodrama practice is the group, but the concept of psychodrama begins with the individual – within his or her world of experience.  The psychodramatist respects this fact by ‘accepting the patient with all his subjectivity’. (Z. T. Moreno, 1966, p.237). ”

The penultimate meeting for the PIM READING GROUP for 2015 is Friday, 30 October at 1/10-12 Adolph St, Cremorne, Victoria from 12.45 to 1.45 p.m.   I am the moderator for this meeting and the article that I have chosen is Marsha Stein and Monica Callahan’s, "The Use of Psychodrama in Individual Psychotherapy". To continue…

“In a broader sense, each of us is a living example pf psychodrama, for the literal meaning of the Greek words from which the term is derived is ‘the soul in action’.  In our minds we continually review conversations, rehearse interactions, imagine future events, play out our conflicts, and, through it all, talk to ourselves.”
